Honestly, I think he shouldn't have made the top five. The background/ foreground is Da Vinci's "Last Supper" brushed over with PS's smudge tool; the only thing he made was the table cloth cover. The characters where simply cut from the reference pictures you posted, pasted to the modified "Last Supper" and put through filters.

Link to "Last Supper": http://uvcarmel.files.wordpress.com/...pper-large.jpg

From left to right-

Necro:Taken from the shot on the far right side, just flipped around. http://img154.imageshack.us/my.php?i...gelfullqi4.jpg

Dervish: Again, taken from the shot on the far right and flipped around. he also cut the forearm off and manipulated it to the angle its in. http://img210.imageshack.us/my.php?image=roeife0.jpg

Assassin: The same as the two above; cut off most of the body.http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?i...engfullhn8.jpg

Ele: Taken from the picture of her running; cut off the arm holding the staff.http://img250.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ogsonyayu1.jpg

Warrior: Taken from the pose on the far left; edited out the weapons and manipulated the angle of the arms.http://img142.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ghuubkeln0.jpg

Ranger: He used the pose on the left; edited out the bow and most of the body. http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cogpiekezy4.jpg

Mesmer: Pose on the far right; cut off most of the body and manipulated the arm in the same way as the dervish. http://img377.imageshack.us/my.php?image=clairebw4.jpg

Monk: Pose on the right; same as above regarding her left arm in Draugaer's farce. http://img154.imageshack.us/my.php?i...skefullmu7.jpg

Paragon: Used the center left picture and the head from the pose on the far right; edited out the spear from the first picture.http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=coghariefy3.jpg

Ritualist: Used the pose on the far right; manipulated the arm in the same way. http://img154.imageshack.us/my.php?i...unefullyg9.jpg

Well, I'm pretty sure he used a tablet and hand drew all this. And yes he used the last supper as reference, but that was his whole idea. I find it very funny and original.
Look closely, and you'll see pencilstrokes as would be made with a tablet. I'm no professional on tablets, but this is not just pasting and filtering, I'm sure.

Oh and the results are on page 4 if people haven't noticed ^^

Massive congratulations to Starr and Tzu for first and second respectively.

Starr, your detail work is amazing.

I knew going for a "comic book cover" style would bite me in the arse but I just couldn't resist.

Congrats to everyone! Very nice works of art (and difficult, due to the number of characters needed to be drawn in one piece x_x) Ha! I told Tzu she'd make the top 3 but she didn't believe me

Gratz to Starr !! me likes ur art but is jealous of u right now so dun talk to me >.>

Drauguer i would put that as my deskt0p too.. it reminds me of that da vinci's piece showing Jesus and his students (but i dunno that scene's name in english )

Tzu: I so0o0 loved ur entry, for a moment there i was like: "omg, that's so awsome! eekz0rz " Gratz

Windowmaker: i love ur art and that ranger of yours made me log in and make a pvp ranger like that one

Magna carta: lol u never finished it?! xD Too bad, coz u would have gotten 16points or more, but let's blame Sjeng for not reminding u >.>

Sjeng: =0 wtf! what about my entry? u know! the one that got 30 points! hey me wants my 300k now! xD
that was some fair judging, and u were kind. i'm glad i didn't see some: "wtf ur a noob man why did u post an entry in teh first place?"

Hehehe. I actually reminded everyone at least twice, and I regularly bumped this topic Life probably got in the way.

And as for judging: when hosting an art contest in which everyone can participate, you can expect all ranges of artistic level, so therefore I tried to judge as fair as possible, hence the 5 points per subject. I just like the fact that people express their creativity in art, ánd I got some really cool drawings of my toons out of it too. I was well worth it all ^^

A nice little thing to mention is the fact that my girlfriend thought it a nice idea to use one of the entries for a special present for my birthday, which was on the 4th of july. At the time Drauguers entry was the only one that was actually finished, so check this out: My leet mug!

Virgo- very analytical, generally very quiet and reserved, but very straightforward.

LOL, no way! You'd have fussed over punctuation, spelling and organization of your list if you were. What's your sign?

I know I have no say in this, but I had four favourites, and just want to talk about them/compliment the artists real quick...

Dragon Festival by Tzu:
So fun to look at. Lots of creative and quirky little details that just bring it all together, i.e. crate of fireworks, festival tickets, the assassin hanging upside down. The background was very well done. It was detailed, but not prevalent, and overall just a beautiful piece of work to look at .

"Troll Bridge" (lol) by Starr:
Great detail. I think a little less comical and "creative" than Tzu's, but you make up for it in character detail. You did them so well. It's a joy to see how you put the group picture together - each character is as lovely as the next. Good job .

We Could Be Heroes by Dragon:
Possibly the most original (and successful) style of art I saw here. It has this strange realism to it, I think it's the faces - not anime or comic, so it was a nice change to see. I also love the intensity of the piece... the flames in the background with the Necro in the front bringing it all together with the demonic twistyness.

The Last Supper by Draugaer:
I know he/she can't read this, but I think it was probably the best adaptation seen, and a well chosen one at that. I appreciate how you maintained the positions of the characters with the DaVinci's version. It was very cool to see you add in that detail. Again, just a great idea, I think.

Good job everyone .
